Earl Kreder organized the Big Band in 1999 and 2018 marks his 19th season directing and playing lead alto. He has played in the Municipal Band since 1958. He serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer and is the historian for the Band. He is retired and lives in Creve Coeur, MO.

There is no concert on August 18th, due to set up for Festival of the Little Hills, but we WILL be playing for the Festival on Saturday, from 10:-11:30, so stop by and see us between your purchases.
Please see the following message from Band President, Sister Gail Buckman, and the Board of Directors;
“A Band concert will be cancelled if a forecasted heat index is 100 degrees or above at 6:00 pm. If this criterion is met, the concert will be cancelled by 2:00 pm that afternoon. Please check the website if you have any doubt about the concert being held.
Due to the excessive heat warning, the Big (Jazz) Band concert for tonight, June 12th, has been cancelled. We look forward to seeing you in July!
After a THREE year hiatus due to flooding and then COVID, the Saint Charles Municipal Band will return to Frontier Park for the 2022 Summer Concert Series!
The band will play every Thursday night in June, July, and August on the Jaycee Stage Pavilion with a new concert start time of 7:30 pm.
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, food/drink and meet us, “Down By the Riverside!”
The Municipal Band was honored with a Proclamation by Mayor Borgmeyer at the July 7 , 2020 City Council Meeting. A video of the presentation can be viewed by clicking the following link:
Come out to hear the St. Charles Municipal Band Thursday, July 18 at 8PM.
Program highlights include “Bases on a Rampage”, “The Big Cage”, and a tribute to Glenn Miller, “In a Miller Mood”. We will end our program as usual, with a Sousa march, this time it will be “Who’s Who in Navy Blue”.
Once again we are relocating to the Vistor’s Center parking lot directly across the street from the Frontier Park Band Shell. Hopefully we will be back on stage soon, but not until the stay off the grass signs are pulled from park grounds.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Andrew is the new director of the St Charles Municipal Band. He has played oboe in the Municipal Band for 7 years. Andrew teaches and directs orchestras in the Webster Groves School System. He lives in St Charles, MO.
Sister Gail will be celebrating her 30th year with the band this season! She has been our assistant director for 29 of those years, has served on the Board of Directors, and has been the band president for the past 9 years. Outside of the band, Sister Gail is the Director of Bands at St. Gabriel the Archangel School in St. Louis. In May she will have completed her 53rd year of teaching.
